Information Day 'Funding Opportunities for Research and Innovation in Health'

The National Document Centre will present its actions and services for research and business communities as National Contact Point for Horizon 2020, as co-ordinator of Enterprise Europe Network-Hellas and as co-ordinator of EIT-Health Hub in Greece.

The National Documentation Centre (EKT) and the Pasteur Hellenic Institute, National Contact Points for Horizon 2020, are organising the information day, 'Funding Opportunities  for Research and Innovation in Health', to be held in Athens ( L.Zervas Amphitheatre, National Hellenic Research Foundation, 48, Vas. Konstantinou ) on Tuesday 17 2019 (9.30-13.30). It is being co-organised by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology and has the support of the European Commission.

Representatives of the European Commission Directorate -General for Research and Innovation will present Horizon 2020's  work programme for health 'Health, Demographic change and Wel-being', while representatives of  the General Secretariat for Research and Technology will present the Horizon Europe programme, the next EU programme for research and innovation (2021-2027).

There will also be a presentation of  Public & Private Partnerships in the Health sector, and the National Documentation will present its actions and services for the research and business communities as National Contact Point for Horizon 2020, co-ordinator of Enterprise Europe Network-Hellas and co-ordinator of EIT-Health Hub in Greece.

The EU funding framework for Research and Innovation 2014-2020, Horizon 2020, is expected to make 800 million euro available to the 'Health, Demographic change and Well-being' programme, including eHealth and ICT for aging. It is important to note that 20% of the budget is intended for SMEs through joint projects (13%) and special funding instruments for SMEs (7%). Additional information will include statistical data on Greek participation in 'Health, Demographic change and Wellbeing' calls over the 2014-2018 period.

The National Documentation Centre operates as National Contact Point for Horizon 2020 and a number of its individual programmes (such as 'Health, Demographic change and Well-being'), supporting the participation of Greek academia, research and business communities.  Covering all stages of the research project, from proposal preparation to implementation and exploitation of research results, EKT’s services include information and advisory services, helpdesks, development and circulation of information material, organisation of events and seminars, establishing collaborations for the formation of consortia and joint proposals, recording of national participation and publication of statistics and performance indicators.

It co-ordinates the largest entrepreneurial support network EnterpriseEurope Network-Hellas, which meets the requirements of the Greek community and has included, as part of its services, a network of  dynamic and systematic information and support services for selected businesses which display the appropriate dynamics and exclusively target international markets through innovative  technologies.
