The final five winners were announced by the STARTUP3 programme on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, the second day of Pitch Stop # 2, which was held in Athens. It is the first pan-European competition for Deep-Tech Startups to be held in Greece, and two companies in the TOP-5 are Greek! They are RTsafe and Magos. The top five also included Centiloc, Fauna and Detektia.
A total of 250 deep-tech startups from all over Europe participated in the competition. The event was organised and co-ordinated by the National Documentation Centre, a member of the project consortium.
Ten start-ups reached the final phase of the STARTUP3 Accelerator programme, where they presented their solutions to an international jury after six months of hard work. The companies developed their business and financial plans, upon which they were then assessed. The jury consisted of professionals of the European innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem with many years of experience in local and international ecosystems, executives of large companies, coaches, international investors and successful entrepreneurs. Following the assessments on the STARTUP3 Founder Studio platform and taking into account not only the business readiness of the companies but also their organisational and innovation capacity, the jury selected the five winning teams.
The start-ups in the top five cover a wide range of sectors and technologies. The 5 winning teams are living examples of how digital innovations offer communities solutions which can make each sphere of life eaasier. The 5 most successful start-ups, of which we will probably see significant achievements in the near future, are:
RTSafe a Greek startup offering patient replica technology to minimise the risks associated with radiation therapy for brain cancer. The company is looking for contacts with hospital/clinical cancer services.
Magos a Greek startup providing a connected glove applied to training in the medical sector. Potential uses are performing remote actions and manipulations, including learning surgical movements.
