Call for research proposals in Patras Science Park 'Proof of Concept'

The program aims to empower researchers to push forward their ideas and turn them into products.

Patras Science Park (PSP) announced the launch of the second cycle of the Proof of Concept Programme. The program aims to empower researchers to push forward their ideas and turn them into products. Researchers or research partnerships from all over Greece are invited to submit their proposals online before 10 May 2019.

Following submission, proposals will be evaluated and those selected for funding will be announced on 13 June 2019 by the programme Advisory Committee, which consists of members of the Greek and international technology ecosystem.

What is Proof of Concept?

The Patras Science Park 'Proof of Concept' enables researchers to promote their research ideas and turn them into marketable products. The submission procedure is carried out every six months.

The process of transforming an innovation into a commercial product can be achieved by:

a) presenting a mature product to a wide range of investors or

b) setting up a business for the pilot production and distribution of the product.

The Proof of Concept programme is open to researchers and research partnerships from all over Greece.

The programme is financially supported by donors. The budget is € 500,000 per year for the support of 10 ideas (up to 50,000 per project).

Each project will be continuously evaluated and its funding will be suspended if it is negatively evaluated by the Advisory Committee.

Proposals should be written in English.
