Green IT

Applying Green IT principles to the design,operation and availability of our IT infrastructure and systems for more efficient energy use.

The term Green It or Green computing refers to the 'study and practice of environmentally sustainable computing or IT, including designing, manufacturing, using, and disposing of computers, servers, and associated subsystems, such as monitors, printers, storage devices, and networking and communications systems efficiently and effectively with minimal or no impact on the environment' (San Murugesan, 2008). The use of Green IT can help industries become energy efficient and contribute to reducing a country's energy dependence.
