The journal ‘Investigating the child’s world’ enriches the scientific content of EKT eJournals platform

The journal is designed to highlight the scientific research and teaching innovations in educating children of pre-school and primary school age.

The National Documentation Centre (EKT) launched a new publishing partnership with the Greek Committee of the World Organisation for Early Childhood Education (O.M.E.P. Greece) for the online availability of the scholarly journal ‘Investigating the child’s world’, which promotes scientific research and innovation in teaching children of pre-school and primary school age. The journal will be published online with open access through the eJournals platform, EKT ePublishing.

Ο.Μ.Ε.Ρ. (Organisation Mondiale pour l’Education Préscolaire) is a scientific, non-government, non-profit, global organisation for preschool education, which operates in more than seventy countries, promoting children's rights to education and supporting activities that improve accessibility to high quality education and care for children aged 0-8 years. The Greek O.M.E.R. Committee consists of seven branches in different cities of Greece. Among other activities, OMEP Greece publishes the scientific journal entitled ‘Exploring the world of the child’, in its attempt to contribute actively to the development of a fruitful and scientifically documented interdisciplinary discourse on the education of children 0-8 years. Its members include research and education communities and those involved in the education of young children.

The journal ‘Investigating the child’s world’ is published in the Greek language, uses ‘double blind’ review and hosts work in three different sections: (a) scientific literature, (b) training programmes, and (c ) book presentations, theses, educational material etc.

Within the framework of co-operation between the two entities, EKT provides the infrastructure for the electronic version of the journal and OMEP Greece is responsible for the scientific editing of content.

The eJournals platform, EKT ePublishing service, to date, hosts,37 high quality journals, and provides a single publishing environment  and open access to reputable content, enhancing academic communication and research activity. So far many leading organisations have used the epublishing environment  provided by EKT to transition to modern scientific publications covering all stages of the publishing process.
