Access to 3,810 open university courses via OpenCourses electronic platform

Those interested can download or view the course modules online with some lessons being available in the form of video lectures.

Free university lessons for all, from 26 of the country’s institutions, without the need to register and with an unlimited number of students, are being offered through the electronic platform opencourses.gr. They include university courses for both undergraduate and post graduate levels covering a wide spectrum of disciplines from Social Sciences and Humanities to Sciences and Engineering. The courses, indexed by institution and subject field, are intended for all those wishing to broaden their knowledge.

Those interested can download or view the course modules online with some lessons being available in the form of video lectures. Note: Following the course does not lead to any certification.

To date, there are 3,810 open courses which students can independently follow.  They are suitable for students who want to revise course material or prepare for conventional lectures. They are also suitable for anyone wishing to acquire new knowledge or renew their existing knowledge. Additionally, open digital courses can guide students in their search for a future subject of study.

It should be remembered that the Open Education Consortium presented the ‘Central Repository of Greek Open Courses’ (opencourses.gr) with the 2016 Open Education Award for Excellence in the Creative and Innovative projects category.

The opencourses.gr platform is provided by the Academic Network (GUNet) whose membership includes all the country’s Higher Education and Academic Institutions and is a supervised entity of the Ministry for Education, Research and Religion.
