The National Documentation Centre (EKT) is organising an event about the role of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in the health sector, on Thursday 10 September (10.00-12.00) with the participation of distinguisted speakers from Greece and Israel.

The discussion will focus on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data can be used to enhance and improve healthcare in Greece by following successful examples of other countries.

The event is mainly for business executives, public sector executives, ICT researchers in health, start-ups and healthcare providers.

The keynote speakers at the event will be two expert executives in artificial intelligence from Israel. Liron Freind-Saadon, the Director of Health Development at NVIDIA-Israel, will talk about the role of NVIDIA and the GPUs in Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Gal Noyman Veksler, Vice President of business development at Data Science Group and head of DSG Medical, will address the role of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in health. 

The event will be completed by the presentations of high level experts in the field of health and information technology & Innovation in Greece: Dr. Vasileia Hadjistergiou, co-founder of BookingClinic, a startup that excelled in the Headstart-Covid competition for 2020, Dr. Spyros Arsenis, co-ordinator of the NBG Business Seeds, Dr. Haralambos Karanikas, Faculty member of the Department of Informatics with Applications in Biomedicine, Laboratory of Intelligent Systems, University of Thessaly and General Secretary of the Hellenic Society of eHealth Services and Education, Dr. George Dafoulas, Associate Professor of Clinical Research, Medical School, University of Thessaly and a representative of EIT Health Innostars .

Monika Toth, the EIT Health Innostars RIS programme coordinator will give an introduction on the vision of EIT Health.

George Megas, Innovation Advisor, will present the actions of EKT as the hub of EIT Health for Greece, as well as the financing opportunities for small and medium enterprises from the European Innovation Council Accelerator.
