Organising Committee for the Support of Libraries
The goal of the Organising Committee for the Support of Libraries, in which Greek and international organisations including EKT participate, is to contribute to the development of libraries and information centres in Greece in order to provide quality services for users.

Today libraries are facing increasing pressures, technological challenges and difficulties in securing funding. The exchange of ideas and experiences as well as co-operation are the keys to effective solutions to local problems.

Since its foundation in 2003, the Committee has followed a policy of equal representation and co-operation between the actors that comprise it.

Presentations, workshops, interviews and articles are only some of the various activities of the Organising Committee for the Support of Libraries, which has been working for 16 years promoting libraries, connecting information specialists and disseminating professional information.

The Committee for the Support of Libraries is currently comprised of the following organisations: Goethe Institute in Athens and Thessaloniki, Cervantes Institute, Information Resource Centre- US Embassy in Athens, Library of the Hellenic Parliament, Nordic Library at Athens, National Library of Greece, National Documentation Centre (EKT), Eugenides Foundation, Music Library of Greece ‘Lilian Voudouri’- The Friends of Music Society,  Municipal Library New Philadelphia, Association of Greek Librarians and Information Professionals.
