It is worth noting that during the ‘ICT Proposers’ Day 2017 ‘ bilateral meetings, for which there was a record number of participants, the National Documentation Centre, the main co-organiser, successfully supported the 92 Greek participants; 52 of them chose EKT as Helpdesk, 16 did not choose a helpdesk and 24 chose another helpdesk.

The National Documentation Centre, as National Contact Point for Horizon 2020 and a number of its individual programmes such as ICT, supports the participation of Greek academic, research and business communities. All stages of the research project are covered, from preparing proposals to implementation and use of research results. To achieve this, EKT provides the following services: Information and Advisory Services, Helpdesks, Development and Information Material Management, Organisation of events and seminars, Partner Search  for the formation of consortia and submission of joint proposals, Mapping of Greek participation and publication of statistics and  performance indicators. EKT has already published relevant reports on the participation of Greek organisations in Horizon 2020’s ICT programme so far.

EKT also participates in the Ideal-ist project as the Greek node of the corresponding European network. The Ideal-ist project aims to reduce the barriers met by organisations which wish to take part in ICT Programmes. This is achieved by supporting transnational co-operation searches and mediations between the Commission and potential participants.

In addition, the National Documentation Centre, co-ordinator of the largest entrepreneurial support network, Enterprise Europe Network-Hellas, in response to the needs of the Greek community, has included a dynamic grid of systematic information services and support for those enterprises which exhibit  potential and target foreign markets exclusively through innovative technologies in the services it provides.

Enterprise Europe Network-Hellas, the Greek node of the global network Enterprise Europe Network, provides integrated business support services for outward-looking enterprises and innovative orientation, in order to strengthen their competitiveness. Enterprise Europe Network-Hellas, which has been in operation since 2008 through the support of the European Commission, is made up of 12 organisations (research and technological organisations, business associations, chambers, development companies), from all over the country, enables enterprises access to new markets, private and public funding, technology transfer and innovation management, alignment with European policies and consultation with stakeholders in the development of new policy initiatives.
