'Greek Political Science Review' on EKT’s eJournals platform

The National Documentation Centre (EKT) has begun a new publishing arrangement with the Hellenic Political Science Association (HPSA) to electronically publish the Greek Political Science Review which has been systematically published since 1993. From now on, the journal will be available online with Open Access at eJournals, an ePublishing service of EKT.

The journal was first published by the HPSA in 1993 as a vehicle for scientific communication and the promotion of research in political science. The ‘Review’ joined a long list of scientific journals of national political science associations such as the American Political Science Association, the British, the French, the Italian and the International Political Science Association. These journals, which are distinguished for the validity of the research they present, have contributed to the setting of high professional standards and qualitative criteria in the field of political science.

The Greek Political Science Review publishes double blind peer review articles on original findings and specialised research in various branches of political science, supporting interdisciplinary and pluralist methods, concepts, approaches and areas of research. 24 out of the 43 issues are already available in the journal archive. It offers political scientists, researchers in historical and social analysis, students of Political Science (and related studies), even members of the public seriously concerned with politics open access to its rich content of scientific articles, special features and book reviews.

The Hellenic Political Science Association

The HPSA is a scientific non-profit body. It was founded in 1959 and is a member of the International Political Science Association. It develops multidisciplinary activities including among other things, organising conferences and lectures, supporting seminars, research networks and study groups, in addition to the publication of scientific journals, conference proceedings and independent studies. The statute of the association states that its purpose is ‘the promotion of scientific research and study of political events, ideas and institutions, with the spirit and the method of modern political science’.

Its objectives are:

• the promotion and recognition of political science as a distinct scientific research field and authorial output
• the development of the discipline using theoretical and methodological pluralism
• the fostering of interdisciplinary approaches and dialogue between political scientists and related social scientists in Greece and
• the strengthening of Greek political science and its scientific potential in international scientific discourse through the cultivation of close contact with corresponding scientific personnel in the Balkans, Europe, America etc.

Note that EKT's eplatform ePublishing (http://epublishing.ekt.gr/en) comprises three platforms: for ejourals (http://ejournals.epublishing.ekt.gr), conference proceedings (http://eproceedings.epublishing.ekt.gr) and books-monographs (http://ebooks.epublishing.ekt.gr). The platforms host the total content of each publisher (journals, monographs, conference proceedings) and enables the co-existence with other reputable publishers.
